"I always wondered why 'somebody' didn't do something about that.  Then I realized I was (that) somebody."
Lily Tomlin

Dallas is home to a number of outstanding community organizations.  If your company or organizations wants to form a social partnership with non-profit or social service agency in Dallas we recommend you consider the following agencies:

Injury Prevention Center of Greater Dallas.  This unique one of a kind agency helped Dallas become the first city in North American to be recognized by the World Health Organization as a "Safe Community."  Established as a partnership among Baylor Hospital, Children's Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Parkland Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital, the agency works to cut down the number of visits to area hospital emergency rooms from preventable injuries.  Website: www3.utsouthwestern.edu/parkland/ipc/realindex.htm

Children's Advocacy Center.  This center is a non-profit public/private collaboration that provides a coordinated, multi-agency approach to the investigation, intervention and treatment of child sexual and physical abuse. Website:  www.dcac.org

North Texas Food Bank.  This North Texas agency seeks to eliminate hunger by distributing food and grocery products through a network of non-profit organizations while providing education and increasing community awareness on issues of hunger.  Website: www.ntxfoodbank.org

The American Red Cross Dallas Chapter.  This chapter traces its beginnings to 1905 when Mary Sherman Allen formed a seven-member community of top civic and business leaders. The Dallas chapter supports helping families prepare for and respond to emergencies.
